Dear Readers,
Why haven’t I known about Christine Feehan until just now? I’m so excited to find a new-to-me author who has such an extensive catalog of books. Can’t wait to go back and read more.
Plot Overview: Stefano Ferraro has been born with a special ability to ride shadows. It’s sort of like aparating for those JK Rowling fans. Stefano can slip into the shadows and ride them like a magic subway. He and his family are some of the only shadow riders left in the world, and they use their ability to meek out justice on those who have escaped the legal system. It’s brilliant! He’s a hero and a thug at the same time.
But Stefano has a problem: he needs a woman. He can’t just be with anyone. He needs a woman who will understand his dark life and accept him for who he is. If she is a shadow rider, too? Perfect but not necessary.
Franchesca doesn’t know she was born for Stefano. She has had a hard life, and every one she has ever loved has been taken away. She has a target on her back, and Stefano is the only man who can save her. If she lets him…
Pros:
- Magic: How did CF come up with this world of shadow riders? My God! It’s fantastic!!
- Sex: You won’t find it lacking in this book. It’s almost erotica, but not quite.
Cons:
- Alphahole: I’m not a huge fan of the domineering bully. Stefano forces Franchesca to bend to his will a little too much for my taste.
- Plot: weak at best. Bad guy chasing heroine who was at time TSTL.
In Summary:Feehan has brought to life a fantasy world that is rich with details. The female characters are somewhat lacking, and the males are all bossy a-holes. If you can get past that, you will enjoy this book. If you don’t like dominant men who are impossibly bossy- you’ll probably want to skip this one.
