We just returned from a fabulous vacation in Costa Rica that involved me being rescued by a surfer at Playa Langosta, my son falling out of a raft on the Rio Balsa in category 4 rapids, and several sloth sightings.
What it didn’t include (unfortunately) was a lot of writing time.
It was extremely hard to get a moment’s peace in our party of six.
I hardly got any words in. Then our plane was delayed and we sat in the San Jose Airport for four hours before departing.
By the time we boarded our flight to Charlotte, I was bursting to get some writing done.
Who knew writing on a plane could be so productive. Once I put aside the distractions- kid in front of me begging to watch a video over and over, my husband peering over my shoulders I typed, and the sweet lady next to me who kept offering me lychees that she had smuggled aboard- I got down to business.
Who knew that being trapped on a plane would result in so much productivity?
I wrote for four hours straight. It was much easier to put aside the distractions from my fellow passengers than it was to disengage from my usual time stealers of Facebook, Instagram and email.
No internet = lots of words.
Now, I’m much closer to my goal of finishing Try Me in the next few weeks!
